Well, today we spent the day up in London. Fantastic.
I have been to London quite a lot of times (mainly something to do with Scout HQ) but I never really go up there to do the tourist day, so it was really nice to be able to do that. We took in Tower Bridge, The Tower Of London, Parliament and Buckingham Palace, plus a ride on the London Eye. As I said, I haven't done this for a long long time and its amazing you forget how big London is - especially when you can see it all from the top of the Eye!
Oh Yeah, it was also a great chance to get to know our Texan guests a bit better and they are awesome (sorry for the American phrase :D). It was great having a day to chill out and chat - really starting to get to know them, I'm sure we're all going to have a blast next week!
Well, just a short update and then hopefully next week I'll update every day of the camp!

It's Started... Well, Not Quite
Hey!
Well it's my first post so I will tell you a bit about myself and whats happened already...
So, I'm Tom, i'm 16 and am camping with my District at WS, I'm looking forward to meeting lots of different people, making friends and doing some fantastic activities. To be honest, it's all going to be great fun...
Now although the camp is still a week away the fun has already started. Our American guests arrived yesterday so in true scouting style we held a party for them. Having flown all the way from Texas they somehow mustered up the energy to play football (or soccer), socialise and maybe even have a bit of a dance. It was the first time we had met and it was great! Everyone had a blast and friendships have already started to form - and thats what it's all about...
So in the next week they will be exploring the finest this country has to offer with visits to Brownsea Island, a touristy day in London, Brighton and even a day trip to France. I will be going on the trip to London and will tell you all how it went!
Well thats it for now, expect an update on Monday! Oh yeah, during WS I will 'try' to update it on a daily basis, it's going to be a challenge but one well worth it!
